In this lesson, you’ll learn how to identify the reason(s) you backcountry ski. The clearer you are on your purpose, the more enjoyment you’ll get out of skiing - period.
ICYMI: If you didn’t see our Welcome email, check it out for some killer content about your instructor Chris Davenport and what you’ll learn in this mini course.
Welcome to Lesson #1: How to Determine Your Purpose in Backcountry Skiing!
In this lesson, Chris dissects why Backcountry Skiing has become his ultimate calling in life. And spoiler alert: it's about more than just skiing fresh powder (although that is a big reason 😜).
Once you've watched the video and explored a few of the main reasons why backcountry skiing is bad ass, it’s your turn! Homework:
Go pour yourself a cup of coffee, kombucha, or crack open a cold beer or La Croix and take 5 minutes to reflect on your purpose.
Why do you want to backcountry ski?
What will you get out of it?
How will it improve your life?
We promise, this little exercise will amplify the stoke!
Defining your purpose will massively increase your motivation during the learning curve and also help you find deep enjoyment in the sport for years to come.
Sweet, this is a great start - well done!
Okay, tomorrow we’ll be coming right back at you with Lesson 2: How to Know You’re Ready to Ski Out of Bounds.
Until then, live long and prosper my friends 🖖🏼
